unknown Greetings. My name is Craig James Leggat. Your morning meditation is based on practices I first learned as a student in India some twenty-six years ago.

It was a hot September day in 1977 when I finished law school exams in the hallowed sandstone and stained glass halls of Sydney University and boarded an aeroplane for India. Some days later, after the bicycle rickshaws, I walked into a small rural village near the Ganges River in northern India and through the gates of the Satyananda Ashram Bihar School of Yoga.

Some twenty-six years later that yoga school is now India’s first Government accredited Yoga University. In those twenty–six years, law schooldays have come and gone for me, then life as a solicitor and now as a barrister in Sydney’s vibrant courts and along the way a wonderful wife and our dear children.

Throughout those years, morning meditation has been a rock steady foundation for the activities each day. The contribution made by morning meditation to the successful, creative joy filled days is awe inspiring.
